Sleeping Furniture

Different households and lifestyles create different choices in Home Elegance furniture. Home Elegance sleeping furniture is no exception. Most people use beds in the bedroom for sleeping while some of the busier ones opt for recliners or sofa beds. Japanese people use futons for sleeping as well. Depending on your personality and lifestyle, you may opt for one of the following bed types.

Air Beds – Unlike regular beds, air beds are hollow and contain no springs or fillings. They are designed to be hand-pumped and can be adjusted to the desired level. They can be easily purchased in any size and some of its advantages are easy storage and movement. Because of its design, the level of firmness can be adjusted for maximum comfort.

Bunk Beds – Bunk beds are basically two beds designed to be on top of each other for the purpose of conserving space. These can usually be found in kids’ rooms or dormitories. Although it can be quite fun to be on the “top bunk”, necessary precautions have to be considered to ensure the safety of the one who will use it. Someone sleeping on top may suddenly move while sleeping, or even sleepwalk, which is fairly dangerous if he/she falls to the ground.

Canopy Beds – Also called four-poster beds, this type of bed can usually be seen in luxurious bedrooms and even some hotels. The only difference between a regular bed and a canopy bed is that the latter has a canopy frame which is supported by four posts (hence the name “four-poster”) wherein you can put fabric that serves as drapes or curtains for cover and decoration. The Home Elegance poster bed above is an example.

Loft Beds – Loft beds look like a bunk bed but instead of another bed underneath the top bunk, the space is used for other purposes aside from sleeping. It’s basically a raised bed where you could place other objects or furniture underneath – a desk for example. Like bunk beds, since the bed is elevated higher than normal, it is necessary to take safety precautions.
