Hammocks – A hammock is a portable sling made of fabric and tied at two ends to create a hanging bed. Although it’s pretty basic, it’s pretty comfortable and is quite popular during the summer season. Although hammocks are most often found outdoors, they can be setup indoors as well and could serve as an extra bed.

Platform Beds – A platform bed is simply a wooden or metal platform where a mattress can be placed. It can be usually seen in Oriental-themed homes since it seems to be fairly popular in the East. One advantage of having one aside from aesthetics is that it’s easier to move than regular beds simply because its size.

Sleigh Beds – A sleigh bed is like any traditional bed but is designed in a way that it looks like a sleigh. The name is simply taken from its design rather than any specific feature. The furniture has a headboard that is slightly larger than the footboard and are both slightly curved with the top rolling slightly outwards. The Home Elegance sleigh bed above is an example.

Sofa Beds – Home Elegance sofa beds, like its namesake, is actually a sofa designed to serve more as sleeping furniture rather than for seating. They are often slightly larger than regular sofas since they are intended to be laid upon so sofa beds are designed to be able to fit the whole the body.
